General Description

Model IFD-1001 is a VHF wideband IF Distribution Unit designed to provide multiple buffered signal outputs from a single input with a nominal 0dB gain. Applications typically include the distribution of a single receiver IF output to various signal processing and analysing equipment, or the coupling of multiple VHF receivers to a single antenna. The emphasis of the design is on providing high performance and configurability at low cost.   The standard unit comprises a low profile 1U high 19” rack mount enclosure with a power switch on the front panel and all connections on the rear. The standard unit is available with up to 12 outputs from a single input with connector type specified by the customer.   The entire signal path is contained on a single SMT PCB. An input MMIC amplifier provides pre-split gain to maintain good noise figure performance while individual output amplifiers provide good reverse and inter-port isolation. Using this approach it is simple to provide tailored performance by selecting appropriate active components.   The standard unit has provisions for additional gain, optional input filtering, or an off-board input amplifier, which can be selected for specific gain, noise, ripple or group delay requirements for high data rate applications. Additional boards can be stacked and/or coupled into deeper chassis designs to provide multi-channel units with up to 24 outputs per channel.

IFD-1001/###   IFD : Product ID (Intermediate Frequency Distribution Unit) 1001 : Product number. ### : Variant designation       Typical part Number : ‘IFD-1001/001’   The IFD-1001 product number describes a generic item which is tailored to specific applications, therefore a variant part number system is utilised instead of the configuration code system used for some of our standard products.
