General Description

Model VFD-1010 is a high fidelity, high speed, wide bandwidth Video Frequency Distribution Unit designed to provide multiple buffered signal outputs from a single input. Applications typically include the distribution of a single receiver video output to various signal processing and analysing equipment, video pre-amplification or connection of a single video camera output to multiple high resolution CRT monitors. The emphasis of the design is on providing high signal fidelity at moderate cost.   The standard unit comprises a low profile 1U high 19” rack mount enclosure with a power switch on the front panel and all connections on the rear. The unit is available with up to 6 outputs from a single input, and up to 4 input channels. A manual or remote switching option can be provided to enable or isolate individual outputs.   Outputs can be configured either with direct drive for maximum output level, or back-terminated for high stability (recommended) when driving capacitive loads, with a choice of 75ohm or 50ohm impedance. There is also provision for overall gain adjustment of the unit from 0dB to 6dB.   Multi-channel units can be supplied in a 3U high 19” rack mount enclosure where required and, as with all our units, we are happy to provide custom or modified units to meet all your requirements.   For further details on specification, special options and packaging, please see overleaf. VFD-1010/###   VFD : Product ID (Video Frequency Distribution Unit) 1010 : Product number. ### : Variant designation       Typical part Number : ‘VFD-1010/001’   The VFD-1010 product number describes a generic item which is tailored to specific applications, therefore a variant part number system is utilised instead of the configuration code system used for some of our standard products.
