General Description

Model FOD-1030 is a fibre-optic data link which offers a total solution to reliable point-to-point data communications regardless of format. The link is capable of communicating both unipolar and bipolar encoded data signals at up to 155M.bits/sec over long distances thanks to the use of a novel wide bandwidth biased analogue fibre interface.   The standard link system consists of a 1U high 19” rack mount transmitter, a matching receiver and a single or dual optical fibre connection. In addition to the high speed data connection, there is provision for a low frequency analogue or digital C2I (command/control interface) channel along a second fibre in the opposite direction to the main data flow.   The standard units are offered with various configuration options. Data and C2I connector types are customer specified and both connectors can be individually specified as being front or rear mounted for maximum flexibility.

FOD-1030/###   FOD : Product ID (Fibre Optic Data Link) 1010 : Product number. ### : Variant designation       Typical part Number : ‘FOD-1030/001’   The FOD-1030 product number describes a generic item which is tailored to specific applications, therefore a variant part number system is utilised instead of the configuration code system used for some of our standard products.
