General Description

Model PMA-1050 Programmable Microwave Attenuator offers a convenient, compact solution to all remote signal level control requirements, and is equally suited to A.T.E. or system integration applications. As with all our products the emphasis of the design is on providing a wide range of configurations and options at reasonable cost.   The standard unit comprises a low profile 1U high 19” rack mount enclosure with a power switch on the front panel and all connections on the rear. The unit is available with frequency ranges to 40GHz with  attenuation up to 120 dB in 10dB or 1dB steps. Remote control can be via serial, GPIB or Ethernet interface. A local/remote option can be fitted providing manual control by means of front panel buttons, and an LCD display of attenuation setting can also be provided.   Where operation down to true 0dB attenuation is required, or for positive gain, a wideband front end amplifier can be fitted. The provision of this amplifier then allows for the possibility of gain equalisation with frequency or digital gain/attenuation linearisation under microprocessor control.   All units come with a simple control program for Microsoft Windows to allow immediate use and full command details to facilitate control from your custom software.
