Model IFC-1090
Cable
Driver Unit is designed to provide a simple cost-effective
solution to the problem of combining and interfacing equipment
in RF and microwave receiver systems which have different IF
output frequencies. This allows the system engineer greater
freedom when selecting equipment from different manufacturers,
and also facilitates the re-deployment of equipment purchased
for one system into other systems, reducing redundancy and idle
time of expensive capital goods.
The
standard unit comprises a low profile 1U high 19” rack mount
enclosure with a power switch on the front panel and all
connections on the rear.
These
high-specification units are based on a dual conversion
architecture using double-balanced mixers, which allows for a
non-inverted spectrum, high image rejection and high LO
isolation. This approach also makes possible non-inverting
down-conversion between harmonically related frequencies (e.g.
140 to 70MHz), which is not practical using a single conversion,
low-side mixing process due to LO leakage at the required output
frequency. An optional external frequency reference input can be
provided which can be used to lock both local oscillators to a
common system reference or other equipment.
High
quality filters are fitted as standard, however all units are
amenable to custom filtering options which can be customer
supplied, customer specified or specially sourced to meet
amplitude ripple and relative group delay requirements if
required for high data rate applications. Details of any special
filter requirements should be provided at the time of quotation
request.
