General Description

The DRU-2062 Digital Repeater Unit is designed to provide a simple means for extending E1 or T1 links. The unit utilises a 2 input (TX/RX), 2 output (RX/TX) repeater module which support AMI/HDB3 line coding for E1, or AMI/B8ZS for T1.   Two fully integrated transceivers can fully restore received signals after as much as 36dB (T1) or 43dB (E1) of cable loss before retransmission, equivalent to approximately 2km. Furthermore, the E1/T1 interface complies with all major international standards and recommendations.   The standard unit comprises a low profile 1U high 19” rack mount enclosure with a power switch on the front panel and all connections on the rear. Bit rate, line coding and impedance are selectable from the front panel. Standard connectors are BNC or RJ45 type, at 75W or 120W impedance for E1, or 100W for T1.   2-channel units with 2 repeater modules in a single enclosure can be supplied upon request. Alternatively, multiple repeater modules may be integrated into a 3U high 19” rack mount enclosure. A special 1 input, 4 output version is also available for distribution applications.
