General Description

Building on our RFE-2091 generic front end configuration, we are able to offer receiver system front ends for RF and microwave system integration. Individual units can be specified and tailored to a particular requirement anywhere in the spectrum from DC to microwave. Applications might typically include EW, satcom, fixed link, DF, military and mobile radio.   Because each unit is tailored to fit the specific application, complexity can vary from the most basic single filter and low noise amplifier, to a switched multi-channel system with multiple antenna inputs, adaptive gain/filtering and multiple outputs with individual drivers. Specification is simplified by selection of standard functional blocks.   Units are normally supplied in a rugged machined aluminium housing, or alternatively a low cost sheet steel enclosure, for integration into virtually any system. However, any custom package style can be specified, as can connector type and location for easy interfacing. DC power supply may use direct connection or be forward fed through the output connectors. Power may also be routed out through the input RF connector to power a masthead amplifier. Battery packs and fast charger units can also be supplied for mobile systems.   For further details on specification, special options and packaging, please see overleaf. RFE-2091/###   RFE : Product ID (Receiver System Front End) 2091 : Product number. ### : Variant designation       Typical part Number : ‘RFE-2091/001’   The RFE-2091 product number describes a generic item which is tailored to specific applications, therefore a variant part number system is utilised instead of the configuration code system used for some of our standard products.
